our purpose

Heritage Christian Academy desires to send out into the world young people who will be shining lights in this world of spiritual darkness (Matthew 5:14-16).

The purpose of Heritage Christian Academy is to educate and train students spiritually, academically, physically, and socially. The Bible is taught so that the student will develop sound values that will govern every step of his life. The Bible is not substituted for any academic subject, but is integrated into the total educational program.

OUR MISSION

Our mission statement is “Training students to develop the mind of Jesus Christ so they can become adults who impact their homes, churches, and communities for Him.”

Heritage Christian Academy seeks to accomplish its mission as it strives to reach the following goals:

  1. Educating students with excellent academics

  2. Equipping students for a lifetime of service to Christ

  3. Encouraging students to achieve their full potential

  4. Elevating traditional American values

  5. Enabling students in character development

OUR VISION

Heritage Christian Academy is a ministry of Heritage Baptist Church that began in 2014. The church’s ministry is to carry out the Great Commission given by Christ, and therefore, Heritage Christian Academy is committed to teaching the whole counsel of God (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 20:27). Graduates should be confident in their salvation (II Corinthians 13:5, II Peter 1:10), oriented to a biblical worldview (Hebrews 13:21), and therefore, committed to a life of servanthood to God and others (Philippians 2:5-8). Furthermore, by demonstrating a mastery of academic objectives (Colossians 3:23) in the humanities, mathematics, sciences, and Christian doctrine, they will be able to effectively engage the culture for the glory of God (I Corinthians 10:31, II Corinthians 10:5, Philippians 2:15, I Peter 3:15).

SPIRITUAL FORMATION

All students attend a Bible class daily as part of their core training. On Wednesdays, all grades attend chapel at the start of the day. Beyond the Bible class and chapel setting, teachers will integrate biblical principles in each subject that is taught.

OUR CURRICULUM

Our students primarily use Abeka textbooks which challenge students to excel in their academic endeavors by providing students with a traditional education. Our youngest students are taught phonics which provides them with a solid foundation for reading comprehension, spelling, and writing. Our elementary students gain a firm grasp of the facts of history and science while learning mathematical skills through constant repetition. Our secondary students benefit from a strong focus on grammar, history, math, and science. While traditional in scope, Abeka textbooks also provide our students with a framework with which they can build a biblical worldview.

We also use textbooks from the following providers:

Saxon Math (used for some of our high school math courses)

Ramsey Education (Dave Ramsey’s curriculum for personal finance)

Answers Bible Curriculum (by Answers in Genesis, used in some of our Bible classes)

Bob Jones University Press

OUR HISTORY

Heritage Christian Academy, a ministry of Heritage Baptist Church, began in 2014 as a burden on the heart of Pastor Eric Crawford. After much prayer, Pastor Crawford brought the vision of starting a Christian school before the church as another facet of Heritage Baptist Church's yearly theme to “Launch Out.” Heritage Baptist Church fully and excitedly supports the ministry of Heritage Christian Academy.

Since 2014, we have been blessed to minister to families from all across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. We are located in Haslet, TX, on the campus of Heritage Baptist Church. God is using our school to impact a generation for Christ and provide help to families.

“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
— 2 Timothy 3:14-15
